What is this website about?
Transfemme is a prevention of violence campaign, developed by the Zoe Belle Gender Collective (ZBGC), aimed at addressing:
- men’s violence against trans women
- the negative attitudes and behaviours of men’s family, friends and communities that drive violence and abuse towards both trans women and their partners.
The target audiences for this website are:
- transgender women who have intimate relationships with cisgender men
- cisgender men who have intimate relationships with transgender women
- their family, friends and broader communities.

We have also produced resources for people working in a wide range of services including primary prevention, family violence, sexual assault, health, mental health, and relationship counselling.
These resources include posters, social media campaign materials, a practice guide and training modules. We also offer online or in-person trainings.
Access these resources from the Zoe Belle Gender Collective.
Why is this work important?
Trans women experience high rates of intimate partner violence and sexual assault. Unfortunately, many trans women do not feel safe accessing services after experiencing violence, or they may be excluded from services because of their gender identity. There are even fewer pathways for men who date trans women to access behaviour change programs, seek relationship advice or counselling.
It’s vital that services preventing and responding to gendered violence develop their capacity to meet the needs of these communities.
Demonstrating that your practice is inclusive and suitable for trans women improves their access to your services and in turn, their safety.
Thank you for your work on developing an inclusive system to address gendered violence.
